[Freetype] Why is it so hard to find the latest code?

Pardon my ignorance, but I find downloading the code form the website a
pain.  On the main page you have a big splash line proclaiming,
"FreeType release 2.0.1 is available!"  Great.  Now where is it?  I try
clicking on the line, but for some reason it's not a hyperlink.  I then
click on the link that says, "Download FreeType".  One of the first
things to catch my eye is a line that says, "FTP Server & Mirrors".  Of
course, when I click on the HTTP link, I am presented with a list of
files which does NOT include the latest code.  In fact, the most recent
code is from November of 2000.  This wouldn't be so bad except that link
was supposedly to, "(HTTP - latest stable releases only)".  Here's
everything in that link...

So I go back.  I then see the "FreeType 2" link.  I click on it and I
finally find what I want.  Would it be possible for someone to actually
make the "FreeType release 2.0.1 is available!" an actual hyperlink
instead of a annoying tease?  Furthermore, why not assume that people
want the latest code and put it as the topmost item on the page instead
of the seemingly useless "FTP Server & Mirrors".  The software is
terrific, but finding it should be simple and not annoying.
