Build problems with freetype 2, win2k, visual c |

Due to the problems of my last e-mail I decided to build the
freetype2 library with full debugging info. So I changed the
CL flags in config.mk (the visualc version). Then I did a "make
distclean" and it removed all the obj's and libs.
However when I tried to run make again, i get these
errors:config/modules.mk:70: extraneous text after `include'
config/freetype.mk:142: extraneous text after `include'
lib /nologo /out:obj/freetype.lib
make: Nothing to be done for `all'.
So wiped the directory, re-unzipped the ft2beta7.zip, copied
w32_vcc.mk to config.mk, and tried to build again without changing the
files. I am still getting the same problems.
I have to do the copy of config.mk manually because when I try
'make setup visualc' it always configures to use the w32_gcc.mk file.
I've gotten it to work before, has anything changed in the build setup?
Any Ideas on what I am doing wrong?
What version of GNU make is recommended?
Harley
