Can you please fix the link?
I assume it should point to http://savannah.nongnu.org/download/freefont/

That's correct. I have corrected the file in the CVS repository. It
doesn't show up yet, but it probably will in a few hours.

Thank you!

Also, can you please include filenames that include a version number? I
help make ready-to-use packages and it is inconvenient to invent our own
version numbers and also we use checksums to verify the integrity of the
downloads based on unique filenames.

I don't want to invent some arbitrary version numbers either, but I guess
I could probably provide timestamp-based tags, e.g. something like
freefont-20050722-ttf.tar.gz. Would be that OK with you?

Yes, using the date would be great. It may be better though to use the version at the end. Some tools used by packaging systems may assume the "ttf" is part of the versioning, and so freefont-20050722-ttf and freefont-20050722-sfd would appear to be same package but just different versions.

Notice that Debian calls it: ttf-freefont_20031008-1.1. I don't like that since "ttf" is not your project name.

I used freefont-ttf-20050407 for my pkgsrc package. Please consider using freefont-ttf-20050722 and freefont-sfd-20050722 as the naming.

Also, can you please link to the pkgsrc package? Here is a diff for your webpage:
