PfaEdit is the tool I use as well, and as you have already noticed, the
"source" form of fonts is PfaEdit's native SFD format (although it is
trivial to "decompile", say, Type 1 fonts).

You can have a read/write CVS access if you want it. For becoming a member
of the project, you need to have an account on the Savannah. I've noticed
that there exists a user "teras" with a real name equal to yours, so if
you can confirm this is indeed you I will make it a developer.
