That is not what I said. I said "we've seen it working on
platforms A, B, and C in the past". AIX is one of those platforms that I have
been informed that people have had some success with.
I just searched my personal archives, and I have some private e-mail from a
"Sinan Komut" who got it working with AIX 4.3 after making sure to use gmake,
and not AIX's make, in February 2003. A certain "Sven Specker" contacted me
in July 2003 with problems on AIX 5.1 which were eventually resolved in CVS
to his satisfaction. Both were using gcc, I believe. There may have been
others. In the absence of a new bug report, I have to assume that it is
still OK.
Sorry, but I sometimes get confused between the mailing list archives and my
own. I get a lot of pnet-related messages, and keeping them all straight is
nigh on impossible. I was going from memory that "someone has done this
before and it worked".
