Summary:  pnet-0.6.8 doesn't support threads under Solaris

Original Submission:  The attached patch fixes thread support under Solaris. 
Tested on Solaris 9 SPARC. Both the pnet and pnetlib test suites pass 
(excluding the TestXmlConvertToInt?? tests which I gather are broken in 
general).
