Hi all,

Only a few bits and pieces in pnet from Gopal and I this week. We resolved
some assembler issues to help Patrick Pletscher get Oberon.Net working; plus
fixes to attributes and PInvoke.

Pnetlib has been the main focus this week, with Adam Ballai (minddog) and his
offsiders pounding through the System.Xml bugs - great work guys! Some test
cases from Thong Nguyen for wait events were added. Jonathan Springer fixed
some more number formatting/parsing bugs. Gopal cleaned up various
interoperability issues, and I've been working on JScript.

The JScript interpreter can now parse and evaluation expressions, but I still
need to implement function calls and the JScript class library to reach
ECMAScript 3 compatibility. Shouldn't be too long now.

After the DotGNU weekly meeting tonight, I'm off to Perth tomorrow for
linux.conf.au 2003. I'll be back in Brisbane on the 28th of January. I hope
to be in e-mail contact, but won't be able to say for sure until I get there
what net connectivity will be like. Gopal should be able to manage any
emergencies that crop up in the meantime.

For you viewing pleasure, here is a copy of the paper that I'll be presenting
at the conference next week, written by Gopal and yours truly:

The Design of the Portable.NET Interpreter
    http://www.southern-storm.com.au/download/pnet-engine.pdf

This has also been submitted to .NET Journal, for their upcoming special issue
on CLI implementations (the March 2003 issue I believe).

Try not to wreck the CVS tree while I'm away ( :-) ), and I'll see you all
again after I get back.

Cheers,

Rhys.
