I started my pnet experience using mingw+msys, and after beating it for a
long time, finally gave up and went over the cygwin side.

Most of the issues seem like they've been resolved by Rhys and James Michael
DuPont, but two other issues I had were (a) the CVS client refusing to work
on my mingw install, thus I couldn't check out the bleeding edge, and (b) I
couldn't get the auto* tools to work.
