This is really a question for the Wiki or the GNU Radio mailing list.
You can subscribe to the list here:

Given your stated level of experience with GNU Radio and Linux, I
recommend that you *not* install some downloaded archive. Instead
install the pre-built packages and dependencies supplied by your Linux
distribution:
http://gnuradio.org/redmine/projects/gnuradio/wiki/BinaryPackages
http://gnuradio.org/redmine/projects/gnuradio/wiki/InstallingGR
or play around with the bootable Live DVD:
http://gnuradio.org/redmine/projects/gnuradio/wiki/GNURadioLiveDVD
(unless you want to pay me hourly consulting rates. :D )
Regards,
Andy
