Hello Augustin,

2006/10/31, Augustin <address@hidden>:
I hope you will one day become more trustful.

It is a pain to work in such an atmosphere of mistrust.

Ough! I was pretty sure that my comments would be perceived as too
harsh. But at least I was trying to be honest and not hide potential
misunderstanding.

To make things clear:
- We still do plan to use your module as the reference web interface
for demexp and Drupal for the forums. Right now, we're blocked because
of the RAS;

- We (the Rennes team) disagree with you on the login issue. You
consider this as a minor issue and we don't. We have decided to cope
with that (i.e. we respect your own agenda) but we wan't to have a
single login at stage 2 and we want to have a clear upgrade path from
current situation (two logins) to stage 2 (this come from our last
meeting yesterday);

- If I understood you correctly, you want the demexp web interface to
be ready for 2007 French election while we don't consider this as a
requirement, even if we would be pleased if that media buzz could help
bring some attention to the democratic experience project.

I do consider trust as a long term relationship. You've been in the
project for only two months. I don't consider this long term. ;-)
Moreover, trust is build in front of issues and disagreements. So
current situation is the perfect test to see if we can work together
or not.

I sincerely think I'm open to new ideas and people. But, at the same
idea, I have a certain idea on how the project should work to be
successful in the long term (write well engineered code, document
things, simple user interface, ...). I try to build be reasoning on
arguments (e.g. the current login system is too complex for both the
user and the admin because it requires 13 steps) but of course I'm not
perfect. Just tell me where I'm wrong with similar arguments.

I sincerely hope that you can understand my point of view and that we
will struggle together to make demexp work on 20 servers in two years
from now, and still have fun! :-)

Best wishes,
d.
