Thanks for the report. But I can't recreate that problem here. Using
su as root does not ask for a password.
It sounds like something is broken with your installation of the
program. Since RH uses PAM and PAM is actually where the
authentification is happening it might be a PAM problem on your
machine. That is just a wild guess.
Perhaps someone else on the bug list can make more useful suggestions
about how to debug your problem. I am at a loss.
