Well as both -s and -p are present it would seem sensible that they worked. If there is an issue with it not working why is it present in a broken format and not corrected?

Note that the -p option is not standard.  For portable applications
you should avoid using that option.  In fact the uname functionality
is such that portable scripts should probably avoid all but the -s
option.
