It doesn't take much of this simple bourbon sauce to put these tender chops on a higher level.
Residual heat will melt it, no problem. There are some foods that look really appealing uncooked, yet appear less than appetizing when cooked. She marvels that such a simple dish can shine with flavors that absolutely sing! The carrots add some color and sweetness to the squash.
Its spiciness is due to a substantial amount of ginger.
Nothing about it tips too far one way or the other.
Here's a tasty way to put them to good use.
Using winter squash and carrots make it the perfect side dish for a fall dinner.
The pudding soaks overnight in the fridge, to be baked in the morning. Jam-packed with some of the season's great produce and laced with spinach pesto, it's got all the makings of a perfect meal.

Until the coffee kicks in, cereal or toast is about all that's doable. Braising isn't a quick-cooking method and takes some time. Serve with sugar cookies on the side.

Most chilies have chiles as an ingredient. Firm cheeses like Cheddar tend to clump or turn grainy when added to hot liquid.
