Sometimes a session against a server on Debian will seemingly
insert a character that is purely UTF in front of "Login:".
This is probably related.
I have made recordings with tcpdump of sessions running our
telnetd on Arch Linux and FreeBSD, but I have not come around
to do the analysis needed to draw any inclusion. Therefore I
cannot tell whether this state is easily resolvable.
