You're doing the right thing but I have not been able to get a
checksum or GPG signature for that package. They just publish it on
the ftp site with no other information. By default I prefer only to
include the checksums that can actually be verified.
To continue the build you can do
make -C deps/gc makesums
if you trust the downloaded file.
