When choosing to play without doubling cube (in settings / options /
cube), the following warning is displayed :
"Use of the doubling cube is disabled.
Note that you'll have to disable the Jacoby rule if you want gammons and
backgammons to be scored (see `help set jacoby')."
What could be the point of this behaviour ? Shouldn't the Jacoby rule
always be ignored in cubeless play ?
The way this is documented suggests this is a choice, not an oversight.
Does anyone who has been following gnubg's development for long enough
remember why it is done this way ?
