PSPP-BUG: [bug #48373] Error Importing Long Line TXT file

Follow-up Comment #3, bug#48373 (group pspp):

When importing a large CSV with 1000s of variables I get this.  I assume it is
the column headings of multiple columns that is resulting in a long first
line? not a bug.

If this is the case, what is the correct way to import a large data set from
excel with such a large number of variables to avoid this error?  (presumably
not CSV as this is going to 'string' everything together to this line that's
too long).

(I could not see this issue covered in pspp-users archives?)
