It shouldn't be necessary to require regexp-opt, especially seeing as
all instances will be optimised away by the byte compiler.

Not sure if I mentioned this or not, but all :group attributes can be
left away, since a defcustom will default to the last group you defined.

I believe I mentioned this as well, but if not, I'd like to advocate for
setting this to non-nil by default, just because using unicode by
default could be tricky, if the user doesn't have the right fonts
installed, making everything look off.  ASCII seems to be the safer
default.

Regardless of the value of `which-key-dont-use-unicode', it seems to me
that the list will never contain a nil that has to be removed.  If
`which-key-dont-use-unicode' is nil, then an empty list is spliced,
which won't add a nil, otherwise a single non-nil element is added.
