Ah, sorry. I just looked at the output of describe-function. obarray-make is not mentioned in NEWS.25, so its help currently says Probably introduced at or before Emacs version 30.1.FWIW, though, smartrep far predates Emacs 25, and doesn't declare a minimum Emacs version. OTOH it hasn't been updated for 9 years and probably doesn't have too many users left.
