Yes, but the issues possibly introduced by Stefan's change are not necessarily covered by byte compilation. Like *ielm*, it uses `eval' etc. Sorry if I'm already polluting the bug report again, no doubt Noam can estimate much better if there could be more cases like this. Michael.
