bug#4443: ERC gets freezed, Emacs 23

Subject: bug#4443: ERC gets freezed, Emacs 23

Please do the following:

 - In Options menu, enable "Enter Debugger on Quit/C-g"
 - Trigger the problem
 - Send the backtrace

Also, please switch to a server buffer, do C-h m, and send us the list
of enabled minor modes from the first and subsequent lines.
