The first thing you see when you do C-h f defadvice is this:
(defadvice FUNCTION ARGS &rest BODY)
A detailed syntax description follows, but either that first signature
should be removed or the connection between ARGS and that description
should be pointed out.
What's worse is that there are two BODY's, one in the signature, the
other in the syntax description. The connection is not made -
confusing.
defadvice is a Lisp macro in `advice.el'.
(defadvice FUNCTION ARGS &rest BODY)
Define a piece of advice for FUNCTION (a symbol).
The syntax of `defadvice' is as follows:
(defadvice FUNCTION (CLASS NAME [POSITION] [ARGLIST] FLAG...)
[DOCSTRING] [INTERACTIVE-FORM]
BODY... )
In GNU Emacs 22.1.1 (i386-mingw-nt5.1.2600)
of 2007-06-02 on RELEASE
Windowing system distributor `Microsoft Corp.', version 5.1.2600
configured using `configure --with-gcc (3.4) --cflags -Ic:/gnuwin32/include'
