Dear maintainers of GNU Emacs, first of all many thanks for your continued development of my favorite working environment! Today I downloaded emacs-22.1.tar.gz and emacs-22.1.tar.gz.sig from ftp://ftp.gnu.org/pub/gnu/emacs. However, I didn't find any hint where to download the public key to verify the signature. Could you please put a download link somewhere? Ideally with fingerprint and on a different server... Thanks in advance Jens P.S.gpg --keyserver subkeys.pgp.net --search-keys 0xBC40251Csometimes reportsgpg: key "0xBC40251C" not found on keyserverSometimes, it returns a key for Chong Yidong <cyd@stupidchicken.com>
Hi,Maybe you should post to gnu.emacs.help instead. When you try to verify the signature , does it show that "bc40251c" is not in the keyring? I had trouble finding the signing key for the Windows version at first, but I did find it at last this morning. This NG is for bugs in Emacs. I am just a new user of GNU Emacs myself. I used Emacs on a DEC VAX a long time ago.
