Putting (tool-bar-mode 0) in .emacs still wastefully shows the toolbar
momentarily. One must do
$ emacs -Q -eval '(tool-bar-mode 0)'
In both cases however, the gone toolbar is not recompensated with more
lines on the screen. Emacs is just that much shorter.
emacs-version "22.1.1"
Wait,
$ emacs -Q -l /tmp/.emacs
$ HOME=/tmp emacs
act differently. Maybe this is Debian specific.
