This bug report will be sent to the Free Software Foundation,
not to your local site managers!!
Please write in English, because the Emacs maintainers do not have
translators to read other languages for them.

In GNU Emacs 20.7.1 (i386-suse-linux, X toolkit)
of Tue Sep 25 2001 on hewitt
configured using `configure --with-gcc --with-pop --with-system-malloc
--prefix=/usr --exec-prefix=/usr --infodir=/usr/share/info
--mandir=/usr/share/man --sharedstatedir=/var/lib --libexecdir=/usr/lib
--with-x --with-x-toolkit=lucid --x-includes=/usr/X11R6/include
--x-libraries=/usr/X11R6/lib i386-suse-linux CC=gcc 'CFLAGS=-O2 -mcpu=i486
-march=i486 -pipe -DSYSTEM_PURESIZE_EXTRA=25000
-DSITELOAD_PURESIZE_EXTRA=10000 -D_GNU_SOURCE ' 'LDFLAGS=-s
-znocombreloc' build_alias=i386-suse-linux host_alias=i386-suse-linux
target_alias=i386-suse-linux'

Please describe exactly what actions triggered the bug
and the precise symptoms of the bug:

I have used emas before on different platforms and I have never had the
problem that I am having right now. Also, I have not changed the work with
emacs in any way.

What happens is the following: when I edit a file (whether it is a text file,
a Latex file, a C++ file, etc.) all of sudden unwanted changes appear in my
file. Basically, a part of text that I had deleted somewhere else earlier on
(and it times even text that I have deleted outside of emacs) will appear out
of nowhere all over my file. Say, it might appear in 5 to 10 different
locations. I have no idea what trigggers this and, of course, it is very
annoying. Since I have never had this problem before, I am tempted to conclude
it must be due to a bug in my particular version of emacs.

Please help! My e-mail address is: michael.wolf@econ.upf.es

Thanks much,
Michael
