Most of the Emacs developers get gnu.emacs.bug by email, not through
Usenet, so the article reference you posted above is not valid in the
context they are reading your post in. For the benefit of Eli and

If I snarf things up with my mouse from my bash window, I can spit
them back out with C-y in emacs.  However the reverse isn't true.  I
must hit the middle mouse key.
