    since it's impossible for me to test this under X without
    Emacspeak, I'd appreciate it if you could try it under X  if
    you dont see the behavior I describe I suppose it might be
    some bizarre interaction with Emacspeak though I cant  tell
    by looking at the code in info.el

I ran it under X and looked in the Messages buffer, but I saw no error
message.  It may depend on using Emacspeak, which means it will
not be easy for me to debug it.

Can you figure out where this call to `signal' is happening?
