Reminds me of a problem that a friend of mine encountered but wasn't able to
reproduce (probably because his window manager was upgraded in the
meantime). I think the time is spent in a dozen `set-frame-parameter' calls
(all doing the same thing, so they're mostly redundant). I don't know why
those calls take so much time (manually executing calls with similar
arguments seemed not to suffer from such a slow down).
In his case, it was only a dozen seconds rather than 2 minutes, so maybe
the problem is different, but it would be interesting to try and see
where Emacs gets stuck during those 2 minutes (in my friend's case his
Emacs was idle for most of those seconds, so it was a poor interaction with
the wm, maybe with some kind of timeout).
