Can you please make a test case starting with `emacs -q' which demonstrates
this problem?
Sure. Selecting any "Misc" font using shift-left-button-1 except for the
default font gives rise
to a disappearing cursor (I haven't tried all of them, but I know that 10x20,
9x15, 7x13 and
Fixed do this). This is after I turn off the blinking cursor. The Default
font has a visible
cursor.
