don't hit up or down arrows when filling in compile command |

When filling in the compile command, an accidental tap of an up/down
arrow or ESC p, ESC n will lose all of what one has typed, not to be
found again.
Below, assume xxxxxx are one's valuable hard thought out keystrokes...
escape x c o m p i l e return SPC x x x x x x x x x x x x x x SPC x x
x x x x x x x x down up down up left right up up down escape n
