How to generate a command log file

Please
 tell me how to generate  a command log file for a gdb session.
Because I'm debugging my program, there is step by step, where it exits.
So I has to redo it, except the last command, which causes the exit.
I do not want to input all the lines again.
I think, there must be a way of doing to minimize the work of debugging.

I tried cat | tee debuglog.txt | gdb
but doing so the keyboard inputs like backspaces feels not as normal .
