RE: gdb-5.3 testsuite problems on Solaris 2.6 & gcc-3.0

Hi,
few couples of tests failed with the following message, though I have
libpthreads.so in /usr/lib. I tried even setting LD_LIBRARY_PATH to
/usr/lib.

gdb compile failed, ld: fatal: library -lpthreads: not found
ld: fatal: File processing errors. No output written to
/u/parimiv/work/upgrades/gdb-5.3/gdb/testsuite/gdb.threads/pthreads
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
FAIL: gdb.threads/gcore-thread.exp: thread2 is current thread in
corefile

Is it common getting: # of unexpected failures 1279

Is it safe installing the binary?

Thanks in advance
-Venkatesh

Here is the total test summary:
<<SNIP>>
                === gdb Summary ===

# of expected passes 5500
# of unexpected failures 1279
# of unexpected successes 2
# of expected failures 123
# of unresolved testcases 102
# of untested testcases 37
# of unsupported tests 2
<<<>>>

Also attaching entire test results.
Are all of these failures expected/bugs in gdb/bugs in testsuite?

Thanks
-Venkatesh

Well, first of all, what makes you think it wasn't running successfully?
GDB's test suite, alas, does not run without failures.

The asmsrc.exp test failed (someday we've got to revisit that one),
but after that you interrupted the tests. Have you tried waiting longer?
