This is a result of an apparent confusion about what
XOPEN mandates. Whether gbd source is confused
(in specifying XOPEN (not the right spelling here,
it is _XOPEN_SOURCE or something, I forget) with -D as it does)
or IRIX headers are wrong I've not determined.
