Yes.  The official support for the MinGW port of Gawk doesn't use
MSYS2 (or any of the autoconf tools).

Well, the wording of the NEWS item "supported out-of-the-box by configure", and the fact that MSYS2 is based of a fork of Cygwin, made me think that, finally, native Windows binaries of gawk could be built with the standard recipe "./configure && make && make check ...".

But no :-(

PS: Native Windows binaries of Gawkextlib extensions can be built with the standard recipe.
