Thanks for noticing this. In the future, please report such things
as a bug, instead of posting here.

It turns out that several ChangeLog.1 files are missing. :-(

They're available in Git.  I will make another release relatively
soon to rectify this.

I will upload new doc to the GNU website sometime in the next week
or so. Unfortunately, it's a time-consuming process to do so, but it
will get done.

After the canonical

        tar -xpzvf gawk-5.0.0.tar.gz
        cd gawk-5.0.0
        ./configure && make -j

You can

        cd doc
        make html

And you should get HTML versions of the doc.
