I generaly agree. Nothing is like a hard copy book, that you can feel
it, and touch it, and sleep with it :-) No online manual can compete
with a good well-designe book.
However when it comes to GNU software, there is really little incentive
to spend hard earned cash on a book. Because the FSF publishes
high-quality documentation for GNU software, straight from the horse's
mounth. When looking for help regarding GNU software, it's always best
to first take a look at GNU's free documentation and books, and then if
you are not satisfied go to other sources.
And besides, if you really want that feeling of hard copy books under
your palm, well you can simply print GNU's documents, which in the end
is still a cheaper alternative than buying a book.
