Hello,
For some reason my Mandrake Linux loads MUCH slower than Windoz XP. I also
have Knoppix and it takes less time to load than Mandrake even though it is
on a CD but still it is much slower than XP.
I haven't times Knoppix but Mandrake took 1 minute to load (which I could
reduce to 40 seconds but stopping unwanted services from loading) and KDE
takes another 1 minute to load. I don't have a clue how to make KDE faster.
Windoz XP takes 30 seconds to load the login screen and another 10-20 seconds
to completely start.
Now the bigger problem is that I can't find any answers on the internet
because Linux is known to be faster. I found only one discussion on this but
it didn't help.
If someone can help me or at least tell me if this is normal I'd really
appreciate it.
Hooman
