Thanks Hossein,

I tried a code which I got from http://www.scyld.com/diag#isa-diags
The NIC is working but another problem is X server.
It WAS true that installing DEBIAN is a pain ;)
But I am learning some stuff

Hi

Anyone knows how to find I/O address for a NE2000U PLUS netwotk card.
I am trying to install debian but don't know the I/O addrees. The
computer is old and I don't have any manual for it.

1) Have a look at /proc/interrupts to see what IRQs are already allocated.
2) Then try inserting NE2000 module by hand, and pass on one of the free
IRQs as command line option (e.g. depmod ne.o -o irq=10).
3) Keep an eye on /var/log/messages (or wherever kernel messages go).
4) Change the IRQ on the command line (step 2), till you don't get any
   error
5) Step 3 should now contain a reference to the card's IO.

Hope this helps,

Hossein
