latest alsa driver etc... 0.9rc2, xmms 1.2.7 and the latest
alsa-xmms0.9.tar.gz.
i can make and compile the driver fine, when i play anything in xmms using oss

You've probably found a bug in XMMS, please visit
http://bugs.xmms.org and fill out a bug report.
